For years, the nurse Katy VanNostrand, from Colorado, US, found herself suddenly going into anaphylactic shock. But, doctors struggled to find the trigger.
數年來，美國科羅拉多州一名護士凱蒂．范諾斯川德，發現自己會突然過敏性休克。然而，醫生始終找不出病因。
One time, when Katy was running on the treadmill, within 10 minutes her face started swelling and she was rushed to A&E.
有一次，凱蒂在跑步機上運動時，她的臉不到10分鐘就開始發腫，被緊急送往急診室。
Doctor there referred her to an allergist, who suspected she had exercise-induced anaphylaxis.
急診室醫生將她轉診給一名過敏專科醫師，該名醫師懷疑，凱蒂罹患運動誘發性過敏。
The ultra-rare condition means that if Katy eats certain foods, her body go into shock when mixed with the hormones released when her heartbeat rises.
罹患這種極端罕見的疾病，意味著如果凱蒂吃了特定食物，這些食物與心跳加速之下身體所分泌的荷爾蒙混合，就會讓她休克。
She has had to cut grapes, cranberries, oats, corn, rice, onion, celery, nuts and even black pepper from her diet, in a bid to control the reactions - because any physical activity after eating them can leave her seriously unwell.
她必須忌吃葡萄、蔓越莓、燕麥、玉米、米飯、洋蔥、芹菜、堅果，甚至是黑胡椒，力求控制病症，因為吃了這些食物後，任何體力活動都會讓她非常不舒服。
"Going for a brisk walk with my dog, a long run or even vigorous sex can trigger it," she said.
